AN APPEAL has been launched for volunteers to come forward to help with one of Scotland’s oldest Scout groups.
East Linton’s Beaver, Cub and Scout groups are looking for people to step forward and lend a hand.
A notice publicising the situation was included on Dunbar Grammar School’s website.
It reads: “We are looking forward to the new term in April with all the planned activities but we cannot do this without your help.
“Our Scout group (age 10-14) has been put on hold as we have only one leader at present, which is below the legally required number, and an Explorers (14-18) unit of 12 is now without leaders.
“The Cub group has 22 Cubs with eight waiting to start Scouts after Easter.
“It would be wonderful to move them up to a waiting Scout group and start off the summer term as Scouts continuing their journey from Beavers four-and-a-half years ago.”
