AN AWARDS night dating back more than 40 years returns this summer.
Dunbar Community Council has been presenting the Bowe Cup to a young person “who has made an exceptional achievement” since 1982.
The group later added the Community Council Award, which recognises the contribution of an adult in the town, then the Stephen Bunyan Award in 2018.
The latest accolade is used to mark an exceptional contribution to Dunbar by a group or a team.
Last year, Ryan Lough, who spent lockdown preparing, cooking and packing meals for elderly residents in the town, received the Bowe Cup.
Jo Waddell, from the Dolphin Inn, was presented with the Community Council Award, and Dunbar Grammar School’s intergenerational project was awarded the Stephen Bunyan Award.
Pippa Swan, chairwoman of the community council, confirmed that the awards would return during Dunbar Civic Week in June.
She urged anyone with a potential nomination to contact the community council.
