ROSS High RFC’s scheduled clash with Stewartry this weekend has been postponed following the tragic death of their club captain.
Aiden Hoenigmann, 27, passed away earlier this week, having represented his hometown club from the youth section to the 1st XV.
A spokesperson for the Tranent club described Aiden as “a hard-working player, a harder-working clubperson and captain”.
On Monday, they took to social media to say: “We are so dreadfully sad to let our members and friends know that our club captain, Aiden Hoenigmann, has passed away at the age of only 27.
“An irregular heartbeat starved his brain of oxygen for 45 minutes on Thursday morning and he has been in a coma till this morning.”

Ross High had been due to travel to Dumfries and Galloway on Saturday for the National League Division Four match.
A spokesperson for the county side said that Stewartry had been “very accommodating” about the request to postpone the game.
A date for the rearranged fixture is yet to be confirmed by Scottish Rugby.
