PART of a cycleway could be rerouted.
Tarmac is looking at the possibility of making minor alterations to National Cycle Route 76 outside its cement plant near Dunbar.
The change would keep cyclists away from the plant and north of the East Coast Mainline.
East Lothian Council’s planning department is considering the changes.
A spokesperson for Tarmac said: “Tarmac has submitted a planning application to install a section of new cycle path/footpath on restored quarrying land near Dunbar Cement Plant.
“The new path will be surfaced and will significantly improve the experience of the route by avoiding a busy section of road close to operational areas of the cement plant.”
