YOUNGSTERS at Dunbar Primary School have laced up their running shoes to take part in a global relay calling for peace.
The Peace Run was created in 1987, with hundreds of thousands of people around the globe carrying the Peace Torch and expressing a commitment to peace.
The relay, which is snaking its way through Britain, arrived in Scotland on August 30 with P5 and P7 pupils from Dunbar Primary School’s Lochend campus given the chance to carry the torch.
The Peace Run team led an assembly to explain what the campaign was about and then each class went outside to prepare for the run.
More than 300 pupils and members of staff ran round the campus playing field, carrying the torch as a relay.
