TWO MEN were attacked as they stood at a cash machine in the early hours of Sunday in Wallyford.

Police said one of the men was using the ATM when he was confronted by three men who launched an attack on him and when his friend tried to come to his aid he was also assaulted.

The men suffered facial injuries during the violent assault which happened at 12.30am on Salters Road.

Police said one of the three attackers was just wearing a pair of shorts during the incident.

The other suspects were described as white with one, who was said to be 6ft 3in tall wearing black jeans and a t-shirt while the second was between 5ft 7in and 6ft with spiked ginger hair and wearing a grey tracksuit.

Their victims were said to be 34 and 36 years old.

Detective Constable Debbie Duncan, from the Lothians and Scottish Borders CID, said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a man using the cash machine, and when his friend went to his aid, he was also assaulted.

"Anyone who witnessed this assault, or has any information that can help identify the suspects, should contact police immediately."
