A MAN who punched another man in North Berwick has been given a year to stay out of trouble.
Barry Smith, of Ferrygate Cottages, by Dirleton, punched Michael Campbell to the head during the disturbance at the town’s High Street.
Smith pleaded guilty to the May assault when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday.
Sheriff Michael O’Grady deferred sentence on 41-year-old Smith to July 23 next year for him to be of good behaviour.
Smith admitted assaulting Mr Campbell by punching him to the head to his injury on May 4.
