FIREFIGHTERS were called out to Macmerry Primary School yesterday evening (Tuesday).
A crew from Haddington received a call at 7pm following reports of climbing equipment alight within the grounds of the school.
The firefighters used a high-pressure hose to tackle the blaze, which was put out by 7.25pm.
East Lothian Council plans to carry out checks at the school but it is not thought that the main school building was damaged during the incident.
