SEVERE gales are expected to hit East Lothian early tomorrow morning with a yellow weather warning issued across the county.
Storm Hector will bring winds of up to 70 miles an hour with the Met Office issuing a "danger to life" warning due to flying debris.
They are warning people to expect disruption from 3am onwards with the possibility of problems on the roads and damage to buildings and power lines.
The Met Office also said there was a small chance of "injuries and danger to life from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties".
The winds are expected to ease in the afternoon.
The summer storm is the first to be given a name by the Met Office following the introduction of a new system last year which stated storms would be given names all year round.
People have been warned to put garden furniture away.
Nicola Maxey from the Met Office said the heavy gusts of wind was unusual for this time of year, with people potentially not as ready for wild conditions as they normally would during winter.
She said: "It's the time of year where lots of people will have kids paddling pools in the garden, and garden chairs which are quite light - all that paraphernalia in the garden.
