SIX drivers have been given fines or points on their licence following a crackdown on speeding in Prestonpans, Cockenzie and Port Seton.
Prestonpans Community Policing Team has been working with roads policing colleagues, with particular attention given to Cockenzie’s Avenue Road after concerns from residents.
In recent weeks, officers have issued six fixed penalty notices and about 20 warnings for speeding at the location.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Officers have noted that the majority of these motorists live locally.
"We would like to remind all motorists to drive carefully and be mindful of the speed limits.
"Enforcement activity will continue throughout the summer.”
