THE world-famous Flying Scotsman steam locomotive made another trip through East Lothian at the weekend.

The historic train travelled through the county on Saturday evening as it took passengers over the Forth Road Bridge and round the Fife Circle.

And members of the Courier's Camera Club have captured some images of the Flying Scotsman in the county.

The steam locomotive was designed by Edinburgh-born Nigel Gresley, and built in Doncaster for the London and North Eastern Railway in 1923.

It has broken two world records – it was the first steam loco to hit 100mph, doing so in 1934, before setting a record for the longest non-stop run by a steam locomotive, of 422 miles while in Australia in 1989.

Saturday's visit was the third time the famous train, based in London, has travelled north of the Border since its £4.2 million restoration between 2006-2016.
