A POPULAR Gullane restaurant and hotel is closing this weekend
The Golf Inn, on the village's Main Street, shuts on Sunday.
The Courier understands that Michelin-star chef Tom Kitchin is in line to take over.
It is not clear when the restaurant will re-open - a refurbishment is likely which could see the business close for some time.
There is speculation in the village that it may even not be ready to re-open in time for this summer's Scottish Open, to be held at Gullane Golf Club.
A post on the Golf Inn's Facebook page yesterday (Monday) confirmed the closure.
It said: "It is with great sadness we can announce The Golf Inn will cease trading on Sunday 22nd April.
"The staff and management would like to pay thanks to all our patrons over the years.
"Unfortunately we cannot provide any information regarding the future of the premises or any details of the new owners."
