A GIANT eight-kilogramme Easter egg was the star attraction of a raffle at Di Rollo’s ice cream shop in Musselburgh.
The colossal confectionery helped to raise £600 for St Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh.
The raffle was drawn on Saturday by 11-year-old Eva Hills, a pupil at the Honest Toun’s Pinkie St Peter’s Primary School.
And she revealed Angela Davies, of Musselburgh, as the winner.
The kind-hearted Musselburgh resident decided that, rather than take the enormous egg home, she would instead donate it to the hospice.
Elaine Di Rollo, who runs the shop on Bridge Street, told the Courier that she was delighted with the money raised.
She said: “It is a really good amount and it’s more than I thought we would get.”
She thanked everyone who took part in the raffle.
