Homes were hit by power cut in East Lothian
HUNDREDS of homes were hit by a power cut this afternoon after a problem with the Tranent substation.
Residents in Prestonpans, Tranent and surrounding areas found themselves without power shortly before 3pm.
ScottishPower said it had engineers onsite quickly and the majority of homes had their power restored in under an hour.
Currently around 13 homes are believed to still be unconnected.
A spokesperson for the energy firm said: "Our engineers are onsite and working to reconnect everyone as soon as possible.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
