A “SUPERMUM” made sure that her hospitalised daughter did not miss out on the snow fun. . . by taking a snowman to her.
Five-year-old Leona Carr, who has cerebral palsy, was in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh last week after becoming unwell.
Her gran Christine Knox revealed that Leona’s favourite film was Frozen and her mum Tina had promised that when it snowed she could make her own Olaf – the snowman character in the movie – in their garden at their home in Musselburgh.
With Leona stuck in hospital, it looked like she would miss her chance, so Tina instead took Olaf to her.
Gran Christine said: “Leona takes everything in her stride and has whiled away the time watching her favourite films: Annie, Free Willy and her current favourite Frozen.
“Her mummy promised her she could make an Olaf the next time it snowed; however, she is still in hospital.
“Tina made Olaf in the back garden and sent me a picture. I said she should make it again outside the hospital but most of the snow had been cleared.
“She dismantled Olaf, put him in a recycling box and took him to the wee car park at the back of the Sick Kids!
“Leona is delighted as she can see him from her windows (see photo below).
“I think Tina is a Supermum all year round but she has excelled herself!”
