ICE and snow are forecast for East Lothian tomorrow (Saturday) as the Met Office issued a yellow 'be aware' warning for the county.
The Met Office warning covers the period from 1am until 11am on Saturday.
The Met Office says that a band of rain and snow will move into the area in the early hours of Saturday morning, with possible snowfall of 2 or 3 cm on some higher ground.
It adds, however, that the main hazard seems more likely to come from ice, where rain falls on frozen surfaces.
Rain overnight is expected to turn into snow in East Lothian during the early hours, with snow forecast to continue until about mid-morning, although particularly in more coastal areas it may fall as sleet.
The snow is then set to turn to rain around lunchtime and continue throughout the day, creating a potential ice hazard for drivers and pedestrians due to the low temperatures.
Temperatures are set to remain only a little above freezing for the next week or so in East Lothian, with long-range forecasts predicting the county could get more snow on Thursday next week.
