A NEW night-time bus will run between Edinburgh and Ormiston as part of changes made by East Coast Buses.

The new Nighthawk N113 service will run between the city centre and the East Lothian village seven days a week, with extra journeys at the weekend.

Fares will also increase, with adult single tickets going up by 10p while adult and student Ridacards will also see an increase.

However, fares for all Daytickets, Child singles, Child Ridacards and m-ticket bundles will not be affected by the changes, which will be introduced on February 25.

The 107 service, which runs between Dunbar and Edinburgh, and stops in Haddington, will be renamed the X7 to reflect its express nature, while the 106 service will be extended from Musselburgh to Fort Kinnaird shopping centre.

The X7 timetable has been revised, with additional peak journeys Monday to Friday.

The 106 will no longer serve Musselburgh's Tesco store, instead travelling via Newhailes Road and Newcraighall Road.

A new late-evening journey from Pencaitland to Musselburgh will be extended to Edinburgh city centre on the 113 service.

Mark Heritage, general manager of EastCoastBuses, said: “We are delighted that we can once again offer further new and improved services for our customers.

"Over the last 18 months we have recorded customer growth of 30 per cent in and round East Lothian, bucking the National trend of bus usage decline.

“To allow us to continue to invest in your bus network, your fleet and our people, and with the growth in inflation, a fare review was required for some of our products.
