PART OF a busy North Berwick town centre road will be shut for four days next week to allow "utility work" to take place.

A section of the road Kirk Ports, at the roundabout with Quality Street and East Road, will be shut between Saturday (December 9) and next Wednesday, to allow for work to be carried out by BT Openreach.

No vehicles will be able to park on Quality Street or Kirk Ports during the work.

East Lothian Council confirmed the "partial road closure and temporary parking restrictions" on social media this morning (Wednesday) - see tweet below.

A diversion will be in place on Law Road, St Baldred's Road and East Road.
