RESIDENTS in Prestonpans are being asked for their views on plans to move a Post Office branch five metres up the road.
The Post Office wants to move its current branch on Hawthorn Road, which is in the Bankton Pharmacy, two doors down to the Scotmid store.
They say the move will allow it to open seven days a week from 7am to 10pm, providing 67 extra hours of service.
Suzanne Richardson, Post Office regional network manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents."
She added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs."
A public consultation has been launched by the Post Office into the plans.
The consultation closes on January 26. Submissions can be made during the consultation by Freepost YOUR COMMENTS to Post Office Ltd, via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, via the Customer Helpline on 03457 22 33 44 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
Customers can also share their views online through the questionnaire at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 15682499.
