EAST Lothian could be hit by snow and ice later today and into tomorrow.
The Met Office has issued a yellow 'be aware' warning for snow and ice for the county, covering the period from now until 10am tomorrow morning (Friday).
It says that occasional heavy wintry showers may take place during the afternoon and evening today, mostly on higher ground, but with the possibility of some light snowfall at lower levels too.
As a result, roads and railways could be affected.
As well as the snow, ice is expected to form on Thursday evening into Friday morning on untreated roads and paths.
Despite the weather warning, the current forecast for East Lothian suggests temperatures may remain above freezing tonight and snow may pass the county by - but residents are urged to be aware of the possibility of snow and ice affecting the county.
