A MAN has been charged following a housebreaking and theft from a house in Haddington.
The incident took place between 8.30am and 10.30am on August 18 at an address on Lennox Road.
Entry was forced to the property and electrical items totalling a value of over £3,500 were stolen.
A 40-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the incident and was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court this week.
Inspector Andrew Harborow, from Tranent Police Station, said: “The victim came home to find the property had been broken into and numerous items missing.
“Officers conducted extensive enquiries into this housebreaking which included the use of forensics.
“Local policing teams are happy to provide the public with a range of crime prevention advice on safeguarding homes and belongings and this information is also available by visiting www.scotland.police.uk.”
