A FORMER bank could be turned into a restaurant if city planners give the move the green light.
Bennett Development and Consulting want to change the use of the vacant premises in Sauchiehall Street to a restaurant which would also have a take-away facility.
The building was previously used by the TSB Bank Group and is located in an area of Sauchiehall Street which caters to nightlife.
A planning statement said: "The development will see the creation of a restaurant and small take-away in a building which is currently vacant and which occupies a prime location on this stretch of Sauchiehall Street.
"Given that this section of Sauchiehall Street is designated as entertainment and promotes evening and late hour activities, the proposed development will sit comfortable within the area and contribute to the range of services on offer,
"In the process further the dynamic of the street and the street's role in the city as a place to wine, dine and be entertained."
A decision is expected on the move on January 8, next year.
