A HEADTEACHER who joined a primary school after pupils launched a video appeal for their perfect head has moved on after just one year.
Sally Leighton took up the role at Sanderson's Wynd Primary School, Tranent, last September.
Her appointment came after pupils at the school launched an appeal for a new headteacher who was "kind, tall and nice" in a video published online to advertise the job.

Pupils at the school described what they looked for in a teacher and talked about the school itself.
The special appeal followed the retirement of their head Fiona Waddell, who taught at the school for 17 years.

A spokesperson for East Lothian Council said that Mrs Leighton, who moved to Tranent from her post as joint headteacher at Humbie and Saltoun Primary School, had left to take on the headteacher role at Chirnside Primary School, in the Scottish Borders.

Mrs Blair is part of the management team which helped Windygoul become the first school in Scotland to receive a prestigious General Teaching Council of Scotland Excellence on Professional Learning award earlier this year, for outstanding leadership.
