RESIDENTS, staff and guests joined together to celebrate Eskgreen Residential Care Home’s recent ruby jubilee.
A party to mark the Musselburgh home’s 40th anniversary was held in a marquee in its grounds.
The honour of cutting the birthday cake went to the oldest resident, 98-year-old Margaret Rooke, and the longest-serving member of staff, Constance Gear, who started working at Eskgreen on November 4, 1991.
Manager Jackie Cochrane said: “The evening was a huge success and still being spoken about today.
“The band, Cosmic Ceilidh, played for longer than they charged us for which was a bonus. There wasn’t much space to dance but we all managed.
“It was a great event and I’d like to thank everyone for their support.”
At the end of the evening, caretaker Malcolm Morrison presented Mrs Cochrane with a bouquet of flowers, a card and gifts from staff and residents to acknowledge all the work she had put into organising the event.
