Ross High 28-0 Hawick Linden

ROSS High’s unbeaten run continued as they saw off Hawick Linden in Tranent on Saturday.

A hat-trick from man-of-the-match Rob Peden and a score for skipper Ryan Strachan saw the hosts seal a bonus-point win.

Nick Tinlin added all four conversions in an immaculate kicking performance to seal a comfortable win.

And the performance earned praise from John Tinlin, the club president.

In a post on the club’s Facebook page, he said “the boys done good” after their seventh straight league win.

“The guys had to work hard against a team who defended the best so far this season,” he added.

And he was quick to thank all the club’s supporters, adding: “I have to applaud the support – it takes me back 20 years.

“Seeing the support we have on the touch line, you guys are making a difference, there is a belief and a passion not seen for many a season.”

Despite victory, Ross High have dropped to third in the league but have a game in hand on second-place Langholm.

This weekend, Ross will hope to extend their unbeaten record against Lismore in the Capital.
