KIND-HEARTED visitors to an annual country market have raised more than £18,000.
Save the Children’s Country Market on Saturday morning at Haddington Corn Exchange generated £18,339 for the charity.
A long queue formed to enter the market, which has been running for almost 50 years and is organised each year by members of the Save the Children East and Midlothian branch committee.
Becky Everett, chairwoman of the group, was pleased with the amount raised and thanked everyone who had donated, helped, or bought something at the event.
She said: “We are delighted with the amount raised.”
