A 27-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with dangerous driving following an incident on the B1377 between Longniddry and Drem on Sunday.

Police Scotland said the man, who was driving a Vauxhall Astra, was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Polo on the road at about 6.45pm.

The road was closed for more than two hours and an ambulance called to the scene to treat the 27-year-old who suffered a head injury.

A police spokesman said: "The 27-year-old male driver of the Astra was treated at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service for a head injury. He has been charged in connection with dangerous driving and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

"The road was closed until around 8.50pm while the vehicles were recovered and the roadway cleared.

"Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to officers can contact the Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3632 of August 20."
