The damaged caused to John McGill's taxi after the incident in North High Street, Musselburgh. He said via Facebook that he was "devastated."
Police have charged a 34-year-old man with dangerous driving and driving without insurance following an incident in Musselburgh last night.
Several cars and a taxi were found to have been extensively damaged while parked on North High Street around 7.15pm.
A police spokesman said: "Six vehicles sustained extensive damage and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
