NORTH Berwick Raft Race will take place on August 19, after it was cancelled at the weekend.
The annual event had been scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon, but was cancelled the previous day.
Pippa Machetto, organiser, told the Courier: “We had to cancel North Berwick Raft Race due to adverse weather conditions.
“Apologies to all but the safety of our community comes first.”
She also revealed that the raft race will now take place on August 19, with the race at the West Beach at the earlier time of noon, due to high tide.
Events at Elcho Green will get under way at 11am with brunch.
It is the second year in a row the event has been postponed from its original date, with pollution in the water at the West Beach forcing last year's event to be delayed until last September.
