A GROUP of travellers remain at Yellowcraig – more than a week after their arrival.
About 20 vehicles descended on the site last weekend and their presence led to the finale of the annual Children’s Taxi Outing from Edinburgh being moved last Tuesday to Archerfield Walled Garden.
The travellers are alleged to have gained access to beachside beauty spot Yellowcraig by breaking the lock on a gate normally only used by the emergency services – thereby avoiding the high-vehicle barrier at the entrance to the car park.
An East Lothian Council spokesman said: “We are aware that a group of travellers remain at Yellowcraig and we are taking the appropriate legal action.”
