A MUSSELBURGH man has been given an interim anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) banning him from abusing his neighbours.

The order has been granted against 29 year-old Daniel Wells, aka Goodlad, of Monktonhall Terrace, following an application to the court by East Lothian Council.

The court was presented with details of the alleged anti-social behaviour of Mr Wells, which included aggressive and abusive behaviour and language directed towards neighbours.

The terms of the ASBO prohibit Mr Wells from behaving in a way that causes or is likely to cause alarm or distress to others and includes shouting and swearing in and around the property at Monktonhall Terrace.

A council spokesperson said: “The interim ASBO served on Mr Wells has resulted from his continued actions which have disturbed and distressed others within the community.

"The council’s Safer Communities team and Police Scotland worked closely together to gather appropriate information and evidence to present in court.

"East Lothian Council has strong anti-social behaviour policies in place to deal with actions that have negative effects on others and will continue to pursue legal options when considered appropriate.”
