A WALLYFORD teenager has admitted threatening to stab members of the public and attacking a man with a metal bar during an incident in the village.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by threatening to stab others at the village’s Salters Road on June 5 last year, as well as attacking victim Gary Fisher by striking him to the head with a metal bar on the same date.

The boy also pleaded guilty to assaulting Jamie-Lee Beck by seizing her by the hair and punching her at Salters Road in a separate incident on June 25 last year.

The teenager admitted the three charges when he appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Wednesday.

The court heard that the boy became involved in a struggle with others.

During this the boy issued threats he would stab those involved and he also attacked Mr Fisher with the metal bar.

The assault on Ms Beck took place around three weeks later.

Allegations of breaching a court bail order, presenting a knife at two women and assaulting a woman by punching her on June 25 were dropped by the Crown.

The 17-year-old is now due to return to court to be sentenced on July 15.
