THIEVES have struck at East Lothian homes for a second night running with a motorcycle and bike stolen from residential addresses.
Police confirmed addresses in North Berwick were targeted last night with a motorbike taken from Melbourne Road, a bicycle from Marmion Road and two attempted thefts of bicycles in Brodie Court and Forth Street.
The incidents come less than 24 hours after a gang of masked men stole a high value motorbike from a property in Athelstaneford before breaking into a shop in Tranent.
Police said inquiries into the most recent break-ins were still at an early stage and it was not clear if they were linked to the two earlier incidents, which happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
They were also looking into reports a quantity of petrol was stolen from a shed in North Berwick in the early hours of this morning as well as another report of a motorcycle being stolen from an address in Gifford.
