MUCKHART Golf Club has introduced 'footgolf' to its programme of activities.

This is an additional opportunity for individuals, groups, families and local schools to play a different outdoor sport, have fun and enjoy physical exercise.

The new activity launched at the club on Saturday, April 22.

Mo Macpherson, the club's director of communications, said: "Footgolf has many benefits. It helps to improve social skills, competitive spirit and health and well-being.

"The benefits to Muckhart Golf Club include increased footfall for the course and clubhouse, the increased use of facilities, and could potentially create extra employment."

Nine holes of footgolf takes around one hour, while 18 holes will take two.

Dress code is the same as for golf; wear a collared shirt and either plain shorts or trousers with trainers or astroturfs. Size five footballs are provided.

Tee times are available every day, Monday to Thursday from 12 noon, and Friday to Sunday 9.30am to 4.30pm. Bookings are taken via the Pro Shop.

The initiative is funded by Clackmannanshire Council and the Scottish Government's Community Choices programme.
