East Lothian Council has warned residents of the scam
LOCAL residents are being warned about a scam involving council tax refunds.
East Lothian Council issued a warning earlier today (Friday), after county residents received phonecalls about council tax refunds and requesting money.
The council's tweet added: "This are a scam - don't respond."
Anyone who believes they have been a victim of the scam is urged to contact the police, while for queries about your council tax, contact East Lothian Council on 01620 827827.
