CURRENT East Lothian MP George Kerevan has confirmed that he will stand for re-election in June.
Prime Minister Theresa May made a shock announcement this morning that she was calling a General Election on June 8. Parliament is expected to vote in favour of the election tomorrow.
Mr Kerevan, who became East Lothian's first SNP MP when he defeated Labour incumbent Fiona O'Donnell in May 2015, has already confirmed he will stand for re-election.
He said: "I want to thank everyone in East Lothian for giving me the privilege of representing them at Westminster for the last two years.
"East Lothian is the most beautiful constituency in the UK, and I will be putting myself forward again."
The other parties are yet to confirm who will be standing for them in June.
