A PRESTONPANS woman has been banned from causing alarm and distress to others with her behaviour.

Siobhan Sands, 31, who lives in High Street, has had an interim Antisocial Behaviour Order (ASBO) granted against her by Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

The order prohibits her from behaving in a way that causes alarm or distress to others including playing music at excessively high volume and shouting and swearing in or around her home in the town.

Police Scotland and East Lothian Council's Safer Communities Team said they had both responded to complaints arising from Ms Sands’ actions and the court was presented with details of her alleged antisocial behaviour.

A council spokesperson said: “The interim ASBO served on Ms Sands reflects the seriousness of her continued actions which have disturbed and distressed others within the community.

"East Lothian Council has strong antisocial behaviour policies in place to deal with actions that have negative effects on others and will continue to pursue legal options when considered appropriate.”
