A WHITECRAIG teenager who was caught in the street with two knives will be sentenced next month.

Ross Kingswell, of Whitecraig Road, was picked up by police in Musselburgh.

The 18-year-old was searched by police officers and was found to have the two blades on his person at the town’s Fisher’s Wynd in November 2015.

Kingswell was due to stand trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Monday but changed his plea to a guilty one.

He also admitted a further charge of failing to turn up to the Capital court for an earlier hearing on January 10.

A not guilty plea to assaulting Kenneth Aitchison by presenting a knife at him, repeatedly demanding cash and a mobile phone from him and attempting to rob him at Eskside West, Musselburgh, on November 25, 2015, was accepted by the Crown.

Sheriff Mackie told Kingswell he must return to court for sentencing on April 7.
