PUPILS and teachers from Preston Lodge High School were invited to the official opening of The Premium Bakery's new 10,000sq foot factory in Prestonpans yesterday.
Students Elijah Duff and Casey Bryson were given the honour of cutting the ribbon alongside director Graeme Ford and Peter Ford.
The ceremony marked the return of the Ford family-run to the town and to the very site where they once ran Fords bakery.
The Premium Bakery manufactures morning rolls, breads, scones and baguettes for customers across Edinburgh and Lothians and moved into Prestonpans and their new £1.2million factory in January, from their premises in Loanhead.
Director Graeme Ford said “ We were delighted to meet members of the community and showcase our new bakery. The new facility, with its greater capacity, will allow us to continue to grow and add employment opportunities to the local area”
