PRESTONPANS band The Rah’s played to their biggest ever audience after they were invited to go perform at Facebook’s London headquarters.

The five-piece band’s session – broadcast live on the social media platform – reached 250,000 people and has been viewed 71,500 times.

The group – made up of Andrew McLeod, Chris Karpacz, Jack McLeod, Jordan Mcintyre and Neale Gray – came together as a four-piece in 2011, with Chris joining them as the fifth member at the start of last year.

The indie rock band were invited to take part in the Facebook Live session last Friday, with fans invited to fire questions to the band while they performed during a visit to Facebook’s London HQ.

Jack said: “The guys we are currently working with have a good few contacts in the London area and one of them happens to be high up in Facebook, so it kind of just fell together from there – we sent our tunes, he liked them and got us involved.

“The response to it was honestly phenomenal, unforgettable really.

“To date the session has reached over 250,000 people. It has 71.5k views, which is unbelievable.

“It’s dream-come-true stuff, drilling our music live into so many peoples heads.”

The Rah’s are now getting ready to launch a new single, Sweet Talker, later this month and head out on tour to support it.

Jack said: “We have a few festivals planned and in amongst all the gigging and touring we will be releasing more music for everyone to hear.”

In 2012, The Rah’s released their first EP, Give Me Life, and followed this up with a second EP, Living the Dream, in 2013. The band toured both EPs, which drew in rave reviews across Scotland, and supported big-name acts including The Fratellis and The View.

Chris Karpacz joined the band in January 2016 and, with the new addition of keys, acoustic guitar and backing vocals, The Rah’s are now ready to release their latest single. More new material is set to be released throughout this year.

The Rah’s have been working with new producer Roni Szpakowski from Peak Studios in Bradford.
