A SECTION of the A1 in East Lothian is being closed overnight (Friday) for roadworks to take place.
Road surface repair work on the eastbound A1 at Oaktree will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am.
This work will ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the carriageway, and reduce future maintenance requirements, says Amey, which manages the road.
A full closure of the eastbound A1 at Gladsmuir Junction is required for the work, with a signed diversion in place.
Diverted traffic will leave the A1 at Gladsmuir eastbound off slip road, proceed on the B6363 and then travel on the A199 to re-join the A1 eastbound via the Oaktree eastbound on slip road.
This work has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services and East Lothian Council.
