THE talents of Musselburgh Amateur Musical Association (MAMA) impressed audiences who attended their recent Revue 2017 at The Brunton.

The cast, some of whom were performing for the first time, explored some of the more mystical elements of musical theatre on the theme of ‘Gods, Idols, Monsters and Magic’.

The Revue, staged over three nights at the popular Musselburgh venue, featured numbers from any hit shows such as Cats, Hamilton and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Directed by Richard Tebbutt, the musical director was Julie Durham, choreographer Lisa McLeod and season director Justin Skelton.

A spokesman for MAMA said: “The show went really well and seemed well received by our audiences who were particularly impressed by the talent of the cast, wide range of song styles and the lighting.

“From a production standpoint the cast thoroughly enjoyed the shows.

“The production team were delighted with both their commitment to a really vocally challenging set and the performances that came out, both individually and as a group.

“This was great as we had a number of members new to MAMA and some of them performing for the first time ever on stage.”

Rehearsals have started for MAMA’s next show ‘Spamalot’ at The Brunton from April 5 to 8.
