ABERLADY Main Street has been closed after an accident involving a car and a fuel tanker this morning.

Police were called to the village shortly before 10am to reports of an incident, and a tanker leaking fuel.

Emergency services are currently on the scene, and the Main Street has been closed in both directions, with diversions in place.

A spokesman for Police Scotland told the Courier: "The tanker is leaking fuel, however, it's not fuel from the load it is carrying, but rather from the vehicle itself.

"Main Street is currently closed and will be for some time while the surface can be cleared."

Nobody was injured in the incident, police confirmed.
