PART of the A1 will close overnight to allow roadworks to be carried out on the northbound carriageway.
The carriageway between the Gladsmuir and Dolphingstone junctions will shut at 8pm on Tuesday, October 25, until 6am the following morning.
Diversions will be in place to take traffic onto the A199 while the work is being carried out.
Amey, who are responsible for work on the A1, said the closure was to allow "work to further improve safety on the A1 at Bankton".
It said the road lining was being refreshed and road studs replaced.
A spokesperson said: "This scheme has been planned in consultation with East Lothian Council and local bus operating companies.
"This safety improvement work, with a value of £9,000, will benefit around 24,000 vehicles using this stretch of the A1 each day."
