CURRIES, cocktails and ceilidhs could all be served up next month in a bid to create an annual food and music festival in Haddington.

Tynefest takes place in the town's Corn Exchange on October 15, with a trio of bands performing, as well as beer and curries being served.

The festival is the idea of Graeme Munro and Shauna Flockhart, from the Clappy Doo band.

Graeme was hoping for a great turnout at the festival, which will run from 2pm until midnight at the Court Street venue.

Graeme, who plays accordion in the band, told the Courier: “We are hoping this is going to be a yearly event in the Corn Exchange.

“We have got three different styles of bands in the afternoon.

“First, is a band called Obsession, who do covers, then, in the early evening, it will be the Clappy Doo Band, who do ceilidh music.

“Then, it will be the Johnny Bridges band.”

As well as music, there will be food served up by Jenny Faulkner.

Beers complementing the food will also be on offer, as well as a range of delicious cocktails, with tickets, £10, available from The Maple Tree or by contacting clappydooband@gmail.com
