COUNTY sprint ace Maria Lyle won a second medal at the Rio Paralympics, with silver in the T35-38 4x100m relay.
The 16-year-old from Dunbar, who has cerebral palsy, ran the second leg of the final this evening (Thursday).
The GB team, which also included Kadeena Cox, Georgina Hermitage and Sophie Hahn, finished in a time of 51.07 seconds.
That time was good enough to break their own world record, but the GB team were beaten to the gold medal by China, who set a new world record as they finished in 50.81 seconds.
The silver medal is Lyle's second of the Rio Games, after she won bronze in the T35 100m yesterday.
Mike Whittingham, director of high performance at sportscotland, hailed the 16-year-old.
He said: "What a phenomenal Games Maria is having.
"She has now added a silver 4x100m medal to her individual 100m bronze, and it took a world record by China to beat the ParalympicsGB team into second.
“At only 16 years old, Maria is already a triple European champion and double Paralympic medallist.
"She is one of the most exciting prospects in para-athletics and has the talent to become a dominant force in sprinting for many years to come.”
Maria's mum Susan also paid tribute to the silver-medal winning quartet.
She tweeted: "Big well done tonight @kad_c @Lyle_Maria @Georgie400m @SophieHahnT38."
Maria will go for a third medal on Saturday, in the T35 200m.
