A PROBE is under way after 26 bottles of wine were stolen from a Dunbar hotel.

The alcohol was taken from a storage unit at the rear of the town’s Castle Hotel, on High Street.

The incident, which took place on July 20 between 2pm and 7pm, was highlighted at the town’s community council meeting this month.

The report, which was emailed to the community council, noted: “A positive line of enquiry is being followed.”

Meanwhile, more than £1,700 worth of tools were stolen from a van in the town.

The incident, which happened overnight between July 14 and 15, took place while the van was parked on Queen’s Place.

This incident was also highlighted at the community council meeting.
