A MAN and a woman appeared on petition at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Wednesday) accused of attempted murder.
Jason Kirby, 43, of Tranent, and Angela Ryan, 36, of Prestonpans, both face charges of assault to injury and danger of life, attempted murder and robbery.
Neither made a plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination.
Both were remanded in custody, with the date of their next appearance in court to be confirmed.
A spokeswoman for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service added: "The Procurator Fiscal received a report concerning a 42-year-old woman in connection with an alleged offence on August 21, 2016.
"The accused was liberated from custody and did not appear in court.
"The case against her remains live and under consideration."
