YOUTH charity Recharge is holding a ‘Walk For Scott’ in recognition of the support it has received over the past few years from local fundraiser Scott Glynn and his supporters.

The group will leave Ormiston Railway car park today (Saturday) from the Puddle Bridge at 1pm for the sponsored walk, with some taking on a six-mile hike and others a full 13 miles.

Alan Bell, from Recharge, said the walk was going to be an annual event which everyone was welcome to participate in.

Scott Glynn has raised more than £150,000 for charity by holding three Walk With Scott events in East Lothian.

The challenges saw participants walk to each of the county’s six rugby clubs and play a game at each, and began in 2013, when Scott was looking for a way to celebrate turning 50. He has built up a loyal group of walkers, known as his ‘Scotters’, who joined him on the fundraising treks.

Alan said that Recharge decided to set up its own walk in tribute to the efforts of Scott and his supporters. He said: “We are organising a Walk For Scott as a thank-you for all the fantastic support from Scott Glynn and his Scotters over the last few years.

“In the true spirit of Walk With Scott, we are also going to donate half of the funds raised to Lammermuir Community Transport.”
