POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an out of control car struck a woman and a young boy as they stood on the street.
The woman was seriously injured in the incident which happened in Beach Road, North Berwick around 2pm last Sunday.
It is understood a grey Honda CR-V appeared to lose control as it travelled along the road, near the putting green, striking three other parked vehicles.
The woman and young boy were standing unloading a parked car when they were hit.
The youngster escaped with minor injuries, however the woman was taken to hospital where her condition was described as serious.
A man involved in the incident was also treated for minor injuries.
Police Scotland said investigations into the incident were ongoing.
And they appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident to get in touch.
A spokesperson said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to come forward as we continue our investigation into these events."
